SHILOH - Across the street from a marker that recognizes Shiloh Baptist Church as the oldest Baptist church in North Carolina - founded in 1727 - members don't let age keep them off the mission field.

IM txting u: Ministry in an age of e-mail

I recognize the title of this article is different, but it is also very recognizable to certain people in our culture who communicate by texting. Technology has made nomads of us all. With the advent of e-mail, cell phones, blackberrys, and GPS systems, we are virtually "in touch" most all the time. This fact caused The Economist magazine to recently write that we should be prepared to see "less of our office, more of our family, and still be unhappy."

Why print Mormon letters?

I have only been an N.C. Baptist for about three years. I read the Biblical Recorder as soon as it comes. I realize N.C. Baptists are a very fractured group and it is difficult to report on all the issues but the "Tar Heel Voices" of the April 26 (printed) issue left me quite puzzled.
